LLANGORSE SAILING CLUB 2008

The Membership Secretary,

Alan Crossley

Sundew Cottage

Hereford

Dear Members,

JUST IN CASE YOU HAVE FORGOTTEN!!

Please remember that our agreement with the Llangorse Lake Conservation and Management Company and the Club rules, stipulate that ALL BOATS, SAILBOARDS, CANOES AND RESCUE CRAFT MUST be clearly marked with your membership number on both the TRANSOM AND ON ANY COVER, and MUST be adequately insured as laid down in the Club Rules. The minimum size of the numbers should be 40mm high. The club rules allow for boats not so marked to be impounded and membership to be cancelled.

ALL CARS MUST DISPLAY THE CLUB MEMBERSHIP LABEL WHILE ON SITE
The owner of Llangorse lake, The National Park Authority, The Countryside Council for Wales, The Brecknock Wildlife Trust and the lake users groups have reached an understanding on the activities on the Lake. These are explained fully in the leaflet enclosed with new memberships. These arrangements aim to protect wild life while allowing activities to continue on the lake. Please adhere to the agreed lake zoning.
Subject to having paid the berthing fee and the annual membership subscription, members will be allocated places in the Dinghy Park or the Sailboard store. The site plan showing allocated dinghy places will be displayed in the changing rooms.

Members are reminded that boats left on site after the 30th November incur a charge of £40 and/or may be regarded as abandoned and dealt with as the club rules allow.
No catamarans, Day-boats boats, or boats longer than 21'6" or those that will not go into an 8' berthing space and/or exceed 400kgs will be allowed on the club site.
NO SUBSCRIPTION REMINDERS WILL BE SENT OUT. If you have not paid by 31st March, you will have deemed to have resigned from the Club. A joining fee will therefore be required if you wish to re-join.

Members are reminded that they must respect the zoning agreement that has been reached by the lake users with the owners, the National Park Authority, the Countryside Council for Wales and the local Conservation bodies on the use of the lake. The Permanent Exclusion Zones are marked by REDish buoys and the *Avoidance Zones marked by YELLOW buoys.

*Avoidance Zones: sailing in these zones must be avoided whenever possible and note that they become Exclusion Zones between 9h November and 14th March. No activities are allowed on the lake during January.

Subject to having paid a berthing fee of £25, members will be allocated places in the Dinghy Park or the Sailboard store. The site plan showing allocated dinghy places will be displayed in the changing rooms.

Members are reminded that boats left on site after the 30th November incur a charge of £40 and/or may be regarded as abandoned and dealt with as the club rules allow.

The winter boat storage fee of £60 will be subject to a rebate of £30 for those who have fully prepared their boat and assist with boat storage at the working party.

No catamarans or boats longer than 21'6", that will not go into an 8' berthing space and exceed 400kgs will be allowed on the club site.

IMPORTANT : Please ensure that any road trailers left at the site are immobilized by the use of a good ball-hitch lock!!
