Safety
Safety is our priority and in this spirit and to comply with legislation, the requiremnets of
Powys County council,RYA Traing Centre, the Executive Committee has produced a Safety Policy with Risk Assessments. Copies of these can be found in the clubhouse. A saftey poster is on the notice board in the changing rooms
entrance hall.
A simple summary follows:
1. Club members must ensure that when using the facilities at Llangorse
Sailing Club they do so in a safe manner and do not affect the safety of
other club members or members of the public.
2. Club members are to supervise any young persons in their party at all
times unless the young person is taking part in training run by the club.
Young persons that cannot swim are advised to wear buoyancy aids
whilst they are on the club jetties and pontoons.
3. To prevent accidents there is to be no swimming in the lagoon when
boats are being launched and recovered. Any young person swimming
in the lagoon must be supervised by an adult - who will take
responsibility for ensuring that they are not in the water when boats are
using the lagoon, slipways and jetties.
4. Club members should draw to the attention of their visitors to the Club’s
safety requirements.
5. Buoyancy aids must be worn during racing, training and when in safety
and committee boats.
6. Club members are to notify the Executive Committee of any hazard that
they come across and report all accidents and safety incidents.
The intention is to not be restrictive or too controlling, but to
prevent accidents and injuries.
Please remember:
Your safety is our concern but your responsibility
